Owner and Nurse Midwife

Angela Lyttle, MSN, CNM is a 2012 Frontier Nursing University graduate. She completed her undergraduate nursing degree at Indiana University-Purdue University in 2003.  Angela has worked as a nurse midwife in hospital, home, and birth center practices. She is passionate about partnering with women for optimal health. Angela believes that when women are educated about their bodies and given the information that they need to make informed decisions, this optimizes the health of the woman and creates empowerment. Ultimately, when women are empowered, this elevates the well-being of their children, families, and communities. Angela has been married for over twenty years and has three children.



 Clinical Director and Nurse Midwife

Megan McDonald, MSN, CNM is a 2012 graduate of the University of Kansas Nurse Midwifery program. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing in 2006 from Olivet Nazarene University. As a nurse, Megan worked at Wyandotte County Health Department in Kansas City, KS and then at Mercy and Truth Medical Missions Birth Center. In 2013 Megan moved home to Indiana to begin her career as a midwife. For 5 years she worked in a large hospital based practice in downtown Indianapolis. Megan is passionate about supporting and protecting the women and children of Indiana. She is active in the Indiana ACNM Affiliate and is committed to promoting midwifery across the state. She is also excited to offer integrated care to women seeking an alternative to the traditional model of care. Her specific interests include mindfulness, movement and nutrition. She is also enrolled in Aviva Romm’s Herbal Medicine for Women Class, and is interested in learning more about the use of herbs and plants for healing and supporting health. Megan has been married to her husband Brandon for 10 years. They have 3 children; Nora, Grace and Joel who were all born in the water, but out of the hospital. When she is not catching babies, Megan enjoys cooking, swimming and doing yoga.



Nurse Midwife

Ame’s  BA was in Women’s Health Science with a minor in Spanish.  She worked in a women’s health clinic and studied midwifery in a birth center.  As a certified midwife, she attended birth at the birth center, then later worked in a home birth practice.  After completing her MSN/CNM degree from Case Western Reserve University in 2002, she moved to Indianapolis and worked in a hospital based practice. She has been attending births for 23 years and says it never loses its magic.  Every birth is unique and amazing.  She believes in empowering women and families through pregnancy and beyond as they and their families grow. She has had two beautiful babies, both water babies born at home.  She is a strong supporter of breastfeeding and did extended breastfeeding with her children. She is always up for a new adventure, whether it is running a marathon, traveling, or learning to knit a sweater.  But her favorite activity is laying in a hammock, snuggling with her children, and reading a book.



Office Nurse and Birth Assistant

  Lisa Warner is a registered nurse who has been providing birth and postpartum support to Indianapolis families since earning her BSN from Marian University in 2014. Her passion for birth work developed from an intellectual curiosity in the historical and cultural variations in birth as a graduate student in Sociology at Indiana University. Lisa considers herself a lifelong learner and has pursued additional education and training in childbirth education, lactation support, high-risk obstetrics, and perinatal bereavement. The births of her two sons reinforced Lisa’s belief in the beauty and power of birth in shaping the lives of women and their families. When she is not working, Lisa enjoys reading, photography, and exploring the world with her family.



Office Nurse and Birth Assistant

Meg is passionate about women participating in their care and having shared power in decision making. By keeping the central goals of healthy mothers and healthy babies, she believes we can all contribute to stronger, healthier families. Meg also believes, that birth shouldn't become a medical procedure unless there is a need for medical intervention. She has almost a decade of experience in labor and delivery and postpartum in the hospital setting. She is currently in school to become a Certified Nurse Midwife.

Birth Assistant

Diana started her nursing career in maternity care at Johnson Memorial in 2009 as a Patient Care Tech/ Nursing Student. That is where her love for perinatal care grew.

Prior to her employment at Johnson Memorial Hospital, she worked for the Franklin United Methodist Community as a Certified Nurse Assistant. There she learn the basics to nursing. In 2008 she  began to work for Johnson Memorial Hospital as a Patient Care Tech.  After having her first child, she transferred to the Maternity Center at Johnson Memorial. 



Medical Assistant

 Jhoana is our medical assistant. She received her degree from Kaplan University and has worked as a medical assistant since 2007. When she's not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, three children, and her dog. Jhoana is passionate about helping people and pursuing her real estate license.



Office Coordinator

Bailey is our Office Coordinator. She is in charge of making sure things run smoothly around Sacred Roots. After graduating from high school in Indiana, Bailey moved to Portland, OR for 3 years, before moving back home to Indianapolis. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Public Health. When she's not in school or at Sacred Roots, Bailey leads a quiet life with her boyfriend, Taylor. She enjoys reading, hiking, and the snuggles of her cat, Matilda and puppy, Jasmine.  She is excited to be a part of the team and enjoys orchestrating growth in the practice.



Communications Coordinator

Rachel graduated from Ball State University with a BS in Sociology. After two out of hospital births, one at Sacred Roots, she fell in love with the philosophy and purpose of midwifery care. Rachel believes every family should feel confident and empowered throughout the pregnancy and birth process, and that all families deserve compassionate and informed care. She is happiest when she is supporting people and works to create collaboration and efficiency, enabling progress and growth. She has a passion for people all around, but has a deep love for pregnancy, birth, and the joy of the journey.
When she’s not chasing her kids and cats around, she enjoys cross stitch, crafting, reading, and generally finding the simple joys in life. 



Breathe Easy Billing, LLC

Kassondra is the owner of Breathe Easy Billing, LLC and contracts with Sacred Roots to meet the billing and insurance needs for our clients. She is an experienced front office coordinator and biller/coder. She has an Associates Degree in Medical Reimbursement from Harrison College and is a Certified Medical Coder. Kassondra is married with 3 children and 2 dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, camping, and coaching various youth sports.
