Prenatal care is the development of a relationship between the woman and her midwife. We love to get to know you, your significant other, your children, and other support persons who will be present at your birth. Each visit allows a minimum of 30 minutes of one on one time with the midwife.
The initial visit will take a bit longer. We will review your health and maternity history, your wellness goals for pregnancy, and your birth plan. We will talk about taking excellent care of yourself, your baby, and your family during pregnancy. A complete physical exam will be done. At every visit, you will have talk time with your midwife: general wellbeing, nutrition and lifestyle, discomforts of pregnancy, preparation for labor and birth, and time to answer any questions. Recommended lab tests or other procedures will be discussed in full. Each visit includes a clinical exam: blood pressure reading, weight, abdominal exam, and fetal heart tones.
